Soultions Journal Online

The Solutions Journal is a hybrid peer-reviewed journal and popular magazine (think Nature meets the New Yorker). It is on the web, on newsstands, and in libraries. It’s intended to allow serious, creative dialogue and discussion at the highest level across a range of perspectives, while still being understandable and engaging to the lay public. It moves beyond the current culture of argument that casts even the most complex problems as polarizing debates.
The journal focuses on fostering solution-centric discussion of today's environmental, ecological, and economic problems. In other words, both visitors and regular contributors will consider these problems and propose their own solutions.
When the folks from Solutions first came to us, one thing was very clear - the website must provide users with the ability to interact and collaborate with each other. Using the Drupal framework we developed thesolutionsjournal.com to do exactly that. Now, only a few months after its launch, there are over a thousand group members sharing their thoughts on topics ranging from "Getting to 350" to the "Future of Appalachia".
In addition to making the site interactive, we wanted to put control of the content into the hands of the Solutions staffers. The Solutions in-house team has complete control over adding and publishing more than twenty-six different types of content.
